The transom is the “square end” of the hull structure. As such, it provides a lateral bearing wall, transferring the forces of motion acting on the bow and sides of the ship, creating balance–much like the hips transfer the stresses of walking to the backbone. TRANSOM STRAPS, when properly secured to transom eyes and trailer, the short restraint straps restrict vertical and lateral movement of the boat to safely secure the boat to the trailer. Although, the most popular sizes are the 2”, we do also make a 1” assembly as well.
